Anderson High School Lacrosse

Equipment Needed

1. Stick

  • Length of stick must be an overall length of 40 - 42 inches for attackmen and midfielders, or 52 - 72 inches for defensemen
  • All heads on the stick must be 6.5 - 10 inches wide, except a goalie’s crosse which may be 10 - 12 inches wide
  • The pocket shall be deemed illegal if the top surface of a ball, when placed in the head, is below the bottom edge of the side wall

2. Helmet

  • Helmets have a 4-point buckling system to assure they stay on and to allow for a better fit
  • Goalie helmets need added throat protection

3. Gloves

  • Little longer than most fingers but the thumb should be tight enough for good stick control
  • It is okay for gloves to be a little large, as long as the padding covers all areas of the hand and wrist

4. Armpads (Elbow)

  • Not too tight, but don't let them be loose enough to fall up and down your arm
  • They cover the elbow as well as the upper arm and forearm
  • Most elbow pads are adjustable and are secured with Velcro straps, so sizing is general in terms of body size

5. Shoulder Pads

  • Move your body all directions as you try it on to make sure it's comfortable in all areas of motion
  • Most pads are sized according to body type
  • To measure, wrap a tape measure around your chest just below your armpits

6. Mouthpiece
7. Cleats
8. Protective Cup

Don't forget water jugs; and a gear bag for all this to go in. The booster club has custom gear bags available at the beginning of the season.
